DISCLAIMERHistorical films and animated cartoons occasionally included content that is recognizably racist and sexist. Exaggeratedly bigoted imagery was far more commonplace in pop culture and regularly consumed by the general public at the time. The films included in these retrospective programs are shown as historic period pieces; they may contain instances of such material, but are at times nevertheless included for thematic reasons and educational purposes. The contents of these films do not reflect the views or values of the exhibitor or host, and we do not condone or excuse these flawed sentiments—we simply acknowledge them as a real part of our history, and propose that they serve as a reminder of problems that are still ever-present in our world. By purchasing a viewing ticket and viewing the program, you acknowledge and accept that the program may contain material of this kind.

September 2020 Update:
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to plan, promote, and pull off a Cartoon Carnival this month. My full attention has been needed more than ever for multiple family illnesses, as well as revamping my entire syllabi for several college courses that I will be teaching completely online, in a greatly altered way, this fall semester, starting at the end of the month. Monthly film archive storage and livestream hosting bills still need to be covered, nevertheless, and these total well over $500 per month. Sometimes, these expenses are barely covered with a monthly show. There will be no such revenue at all this month. Any Ko-fi contributions made during this hiatus, to assist with these expenses, are genuinely appreciated. I hope to be back in full force in October for a Halloween program. Fingers crossed! With much love and thanks, TJS Important: Please read the disclaimer at left before purchasing and viewing... |
